A few weeks ago, Happy Bean invited me to try out their newest offering, the Taho Ice Cream. Happy Bean, owned by Abby Palisoc-Endelino (the same person behind Kitchen Knight), offers deliciously healthy desserts made from Soy.
*Thanks to Abby for graciously providing me some of their photos. Lost all the photos I took during my visit to Happy Bean when I was robbed.
| Taho Ice Cream - Php 65.00 |
Think of your typical Taho treat: Sago(tapioca), Arnibal (sugar syrup) and Taho, except that the Taho was made into a soft-serve ice cream. My friend tried out the Taho Ice Cream, and being the ice cream lover that she is, she just loved the taste and texture of this healthy dessert. Though it was served in a small cup, she found it very filling and satisfying. This is definitely her new found favorite dessert.

| Chocolate Milkshake |
I loved the rich flavor of this chocolate soy-based milkshake.
It was a light guilt-free indulgence- having just the right amount of sweetness and thickness to it.
This was served in a medium-sized cup.
They also serve other soy-based ice cream flavors
FOOD/DRINKS
Deliciously different. A healthy alternative. Did I mention that I love their Chocolate Milkshake? In fact, I'm craving for one now.
PRICE
Reasonable. At 65 pesos, the Taho Ice Cream is worth every centavo. Same goes for the Chocolate Milkshake.
SERVICE
Accommodating and friendly.
LOCATION / AMBIANCE
A relaxed and comfy place to hang out. Happy Bean is located at Briggy Hall along Kapitolyo Drive. Briggy Hall is the cool new place where new entrepreneurs can setup their business. (Read more about Briggy Hall here). The place was quiet since there was just a few merchants there. It felt homey and a good place to chill. Parking might be a problem though, since there were only around 3-4 parking slots in front. You can park along the street though.
VERDICT
I am now a certified fan of soy desserts! Before I tried Happy Bean, I always thought that healthy desserts were tasteless and boring to eat. Happy Bean's offerings proved me wrong. This new twist to soy-based desserts it truly worth a try.
Thanks again Abby for the gracious invite. Expect me to visit again soon!
