Chicken Rice and More | The Chicken Rice Shop

The Chicken Rice Shop has been one of our go-to places for good food after a stressful day at work. I've been coming back to this place for countless times and I could say that their food remains consistently delicioso.

Originally established in Malaysia, The Chicken Rice Shop was brought to Manila by The Pancake House Group. "As the name suggests, "The Chicken Rice Shop" serves traditionally prepared steamed, roasted, honey barbecued or braised chicken as its signature products."

Nyonya Pai Tee (4 Pcs.) - Php 78.00

I liked the Nyonya Pai Tee. It's an appetizer but I decided to eat it in between spoonfuls of the Hainanese. 

It served as a good palate cleanser with each bite.

Braised Egg - Php 38.00

The braised egg was okay. Nothing really spectacular.

Honey BBQ Chicken (Quarter Portion) - Php 188.00

A friend ordered the Honey BBQ Chicken, I could say it was really good.

But I'm really a fan of Hainanese Chicken.

The star of the show. The chicken meat is moist and juicy. One of the best I've tasted. 

It could actually compete with Wee Nam Kee's version.

Chicken Soup/Broth , Chicken Rice and Sweet Chili Sauce with Ginger Sauce.

Their plated meals come with soup and rice plus the Sweet Chili sauce and the Ginger sauce.
They usually just serve the two sauces.
I prefer eating my Chicken Rice with the thick soy sauce, you can request for one if you'd like.

Kuching 3 Layered Tea - Php 58.00

I love their milk tea! Other than their Hainanese Chicken, I keep coming back to The Chicken Rice Shop because of this drink. It's a must-try. :)

FOOD
Need I say more? The dishes were really good. It's consistently delicious.


PRICE
Quite Reasonable. Considering the quality of the dishes you get, I'd say the price is worth it.



AMBIANCE / LOCATION
The place doesn't feel intimidating, rather it feels very inviting from outside. Tables are also far enough to give you some privacy, most especially the booths. Parking may be a bit of a problem though considering it's located in Katipunan. You can either park right infront of the establishment or at the back.



SERVICE
Servers are polite, friendly and very accommodating. Kudos to The Pancake House Group for having well-trained staff.



VERDICT
The Chicken Rice Shop is definitely a place that I'll keep coming back to. Food and service is great.
